English university and college teaching grants have been slashed by £82 million for 2010-2011. These immediate cuts come as universities try to work out how to deal with the £1 billion reduction in their budgets for between now and the end of 2013. Universities have warned the cuts will lead to larger class sizes, even more job cuts and lower quality of undergraduate education.
